2010 Women Only Swim Clinics

The excellent 2009 Swim Clinic success will be carried forward into 2010 (see Testimonies here) Here are the key aspects of the Clinic:

Who should attend?

The 1 ½-hr. Clinics are aimed at women athletes looking to become triathletes and for triathletes looking for more open water tips and experience. The program guarantees to ease the most common triathlon swimming fears such as the:

  • infamous thrashing tri-start
  • sighting to distant buoys
  • swimming straight (no lane lines)
  • open water panic attacks

The clinics are aimed specifically at 1st-time triathletes or those triathletes who are in their first year or two of competing. The clinics are run by experienced women triathletes who are excellent instructors and who love to help.

What the Clinic covers

You'll get in-water experience on:

  • Swim starts using small swim groups (a.k.a. swim waves) and a starter bullhorn
  • Swimming to a Buoys in the water to practice sighting (only 100 yards from the start)
  • Tips & techniques to learn from the experience

This program is fun and not a race by any means! It’s an excellent practice session for triathletes looking to build confidence and improve open water swim skills.

Free Wetsuits for Use

We will also have Xterra wetsuits on hand for women looking to try on and use a wetsuit for the 1st time. This is a great way to try one out in real conditions to see what they’re like and to help you decide whether to purchase.

Private Swim Lesson Availability

The instructors also offer separate private small group swim lessons (5-6 people) to Clinic participants seeking additional help.
