Max-out Race Series

Max provides both Triclubs and individuals special awards to recognize exceptional performance. Both award categories are based on point systems. The Triclub award system is explained in detail based on request by a club participant via our Contact Us form. The individual award system is as follows.

The Series tracks performances in accordance with a very cool point system.  The point system is based on the following age group criteria:

  • Your actual times and average group times during the race
  • Your % improvement during the course of the year
  • # of participants in the race
  • Race times of Max employees on the same course (and they're not too shabby)
  • Race times of a hand-picked, rotating group of athletes by division

Special awards are given for each age group division.  You'll also receive the following extras as a token of our appreciation for your loyalty:

  • Elite Vouchers – you receivetwo vouchers to participate with an Elite-level triathlete.  The voucher allows participation in training sessions and/or Q&A availability with an Elite dude or dudette
  • Max Newsletters – monthly, brief but powerful tidbits of noteworthy news
  • Favorite Workouts – hand-picked workouts spelled out by level of fitness, i.e. we specify race times and fitness levels by workout, by athlete level, so you can gauge  them specifically to you
  • Great deals – our Sponsor relationships help us get some great deals that we're allowed to share with certain athletes

More Cowbell Club™

We’ve had a fever to get back to one of the best athletic areas in the U.S. Your enthusiasm, ambition and attitude are contagious. Simply put, we need more cowbell. So, we’ve established the More Cowbell Club™ to share in the enthusiasm, douse the fever and reward participating athletes handsomely.

Endurance sports give and receive. You give time and sacrifice and receive a feeling of satisfaction and improved health. In short, you make sacrifices to train and to compete and in the end, hopefully have fun, are in great shape and feel that your sacrifices away from your family, friends and job were worth it. The More Cowbell Club™ strives to make those sacrifices a little more worth it.

You're able to participate in the 2010 Cowbell Club if you completed 2 or more Max races in 2009 and complete the Cowbell Club application for 2010. Participants in the Club receive certain perks and benefits (a.k.a. privileges) that non-Club members do not receive. It's just one more way to separate yourself from the competition and get a little more back from such a demanding sport. Here are the privileges you receive for being part of the Club:

Transition Area Front Rows

Club members want organization and speed. So, you're assigned one of the premo Transition Area spots for each Max race. No need to get up that much earlier then the other athletes to get a great spot and yes, this does reduce your T-times.

Guaranteed a Race Spot

You need to be confident to succeed at triathlons and we need to be confident to run them. We are. In fact, we know that certain Max races will reach the registration limit we've established. Club membership guarantees you a race spot, regardless of sell-out status.

Featured Athlete

We feel that every triathlete is elite. Each of you have a unique story that fellow athletes would like to hear. So, we feature stories of Club members in our monthly newsletter. You gain additional knowledge, camaraderie, and even some bragging rights to share with competitors, friends and family.

Advisory Panel Rights

We want Max races to be your races. So, we use a panel of rotating triathletes to give us feedback, advice and ideas on a whole bunch of things. The panel members come from members of the Club. So, if you want your voice heard and would enjoy giving feedback, this is a great way.

Very Cool Cowbell – of course

One of our racers told us he was climbing an ugly hill in the last mile of his 1st Olympic distance event on a brutally hot day and was getting ready to walk. Then he heard a cowbell clanging in the distance and got one last bit of adrenalin – he didn't walk. That story gave us inspiration and the idea for the Club.

All right, how much? Club membership only costs a nominal fee to receive the perks described above. Just indicate your interest via the Contact Us form and we'll get you signed up. Since the Club is limited and it's first come, first serve, don't wait too long.
