Athlete Packet and Policies
Like none you’ve seen before. How do we know that? We’re triathletes too and have done races in over 23 different States.
The Athlete Packet (AP) is tailored to each race. The goal is to allow you to focus on training and leave the planning up to us. Race details change but each AP contains a minimum of the following information:
- Detailed Course descriptions
- Wave details (yes there are different colored caps)
- Transition Area set-up and rules
- Race Day schedule
- Athlete Check-in procedures
- Bike Assistance
- Spectator Locations
- Awards & Post Race Details
- Directions and Parking Instructions
- Safety Tips & Race Etiquette
- USAT rules
- How to grab us on race day
And, the AP is emailed to you well in advance of the race. If
changes need to occur to race day events, you're just emailed Max
Race Updates.
Race Preparation
In the meantime, you may want to peruse some of the things you should consider
in getting ready for the season. The more focused your energy is on training
the better the results. So, we’ve covered a few important Organization Details
to further the cause.
Policies
Race Fee Refunds - refunds at the request of triathletes registered for a Max race are not allowed unless we view the circumstances as extenuating.
Registration changes - changes in registration classifications will only be allowed if requested at least 2-weeks prior to race date.
Race entry exchanges - exchanges or transfers of race entry to other non-registered athletes are not permitted. Violators of this policy will be disqualified from the race at hand and will not be permitted to race at a Max event for 2 years.
Weather Policy - races are rain or shine unless we determine that race conditions are dangerous. This will be based on a prudent decision made on race weekend. If the race is cancelled there will be no refunds. This position is consistent with USAT recommendations and with the protocol of sharing the risks associated with the sport of triathlon. In the event of inclement weather, Acts of God, or unforeseen circumstances, we reserve the right to alter, cancel or eliminate any/all portions of the race. Each athlete must accept any such risk of their entry fee paid including other amenities paid for such as t-shirts, insurance, and online administrative fees. All fees collected are used to develop and produce the event, including all race supplies, staffing, and administration.
Registrant Limits - Max will most likely put a cap or limit on the number of racers allowed for each race. This determination is based on limitations and policies associated with Police guidelines, Park rules and road controls. Having both a safe and fun race is paramount to who we are.
Authorization to use your picture and feedback - any pictures captured of you on race weekend, as well as information that you provide to race management may be used for distribution, promotion and publication purposes.
Mailing Race Items - Race numbers, timing chips or any race materials, including goodie bags or awards will not be mailed for any reason. Winners must be present on race day to receive awards.
Cowbell Club Guarantee - Cowbell Club Members have the right to register for a sold out race if they let Max know up to two weeks before the race date. No entries will be allowed within 2 weeks of a sold out race.
*Management reserves the right to reject or accept a race entry for any reason. By signing up for any Max Performance race, you acknowledge that you have read and agree to the policies listed on this page.
